-blink-

My housemate is so strange - she doesn't think its gross or disgusting to leave used bathwater in the bath tub for several hours/overnight/days before she uses it to water her plants - while living in a share house, but it is for me to cut my finger nails and put them inside a plastic container take away food container and put the lid on it and leave it on the table next to my arm chair. It is a sealed container!!

If anyone see's it the same way as my housemate can you please try to explain it to me, cos I just don't get it.

At least she is recycling the water. Where would she keep it otherwise?

As long as the bath tub doesn't smell or start to grow its not so bad.

Same level as your nails, me thinks.

No no... there's definitely plenty of advice out there that suggests you don't keep grey water for longer than 24 hours...

In fact.. the EPA says so (3rd last point)

But all the minerals and other goodness from the bath salts and shampoos must make the water really nutritious!!

The plants are sure to love it ;) At least they will be shiny and knot free!!!

Commi you are right it is good that she is recycling the water, but so far it has now been in the bath tub for 24hrs and shouldn't actually be used, as per what HG has said.

Also the fact that she has a whole bath tub of water sitting there and she only has about a dozen plants in pots (we have no garden)

I am curious to see how long it will actually stay there for -grumble-
