It got me thinking about why I am really enjoying the spin classes and I came up with the following:
- I don't have to think about what to do except from putting in more effort
- I can challenge myself as much as I want to by controlling the resistance which means that if I slacken off I am only affecting myself and I don't get dropped, but then if I put even more effort in then I know I will get more benefit from it
- I don't have to try to match the pace that others are doing, as long as I am pushing myself
- The instructor tells you what to do so I can't just say which helps me to just do it when I am in a CBF mood
- There is someone yelling encouragement at you to push harder!!
- I know I don't have to get home on the bike so I can give it my all and it doesn't matter if I can barely walk (which doesn't actually happen)
- When I think I can't go any harder or I am losing concentration I look at the instructor and the people around me and try even harder and I discover I do have more in me
- I can push myself harder on spin bike than I can on my roadie - it's often a mental battle for me on the road to keep pushing myself, i slacken off to easily
- I love getting hot and sweaty at the gym and in spin classes the sweat literally pours off me - I love it!
- It is great to use to get rid of a lot of stress and worries in life and to just tune out from the world - more so than my normal gym cardio
- It is fun!! :D

I would've loved to have done a few spin classes but my 1 month trial membership at Genesis is up and I never even set foot in the place...hehe
I guess I never would have continued the membership anyway because I wouldn't be able to afford it. Hunting around for cheaper local gym atm.
