I know that I am not the quickest rider around, far from yet, but when I post a ride that I think others might be interested in and say what I expect the avg speed to be, don't come back and say that if it was another 15km/h or so higher you would come along. We are literally in two different leagues so why even make the comment? I know it wasn't meant to make me feel sh1t or to put me down but it has.
Saying these things, especially after I had stated that I don't feel like I could join a club because I don't feel up to standard just yet and fear the ridicule of others due to my lack of ability hasn't really helped my confidence tonight.
Yes, when I feel comfortable enough to join a club then some formal training would be good, but I don't even feel all that comfortable going out on Beach Rd with people these days.
I am pretty sure that it wasn't meant the way I have taken it, which is why I stopped commenting on the forum about it and just let it be, but I needed to vent.

I used to think that kind of trash talk was reserved for those in the A grade ranks.
I guess we'll be seeing them break out these "low 40s" they speak of at the next ATTA event then?
I'm guessing not. :)
Too many people there think that they are members of a jazz band. They enjoy blowing their own trumpet.
Break free from the grasp of other peoples expectations. Life will be much more rewarding when you do.
dont worry about the comment too much. as you say im sure it wasnt meant to put you down. the best thing to do is just get out there and ride your own schedule. most importantly is to do it as regularly as you can :)
