Revolution 1

Last night had some really awesome riding, seeing Ryan Bailey throw his BT around the way he did on the track while racing was just awesome! Some really awesome stoushes and it was great being able to attend. Something however was missing, and I think it was that I didn't know any of the people that raced last night, don't even really know many of their names other than Bailey and Anna Meares. This was only my second time watching track racing at Vodafone Arena and the first time was earlier this year with the Austral (I think that's what it was) and that was before I had gotten into track racing, but the atmosphere was different then and I think I know why. In the racing I saw earlier this year the people racing were friends of people in the crowd and there was more of a connection between the people racing and the people watching and it really made for a different feel and atmosphere. The cheering pumped through the speakers also really sucked.
Some of the officiating was interesting too last night and some of the racing seemed a bit staged. The track standing that caused the restart for example - as soon as they rolled backwards in dong their trackstands the race should have ended, but it wasn't. There is also some calls from people that the cut down into the sprinters lane at the first corner was illegal as the rider in front wasn't out of the sprinters lane - either way it made for a few interesting bits of racing.

Overall I did enjoy the night though, apart from getting extremely tired, but I was glad I could make it :) I will definitely be at Revolution 2.

I seem to be healing, not sure if it is the antiobiotics or not but either way the pain is reducing each day which means I am also now almost managing to sleep properly. Today I could walk at almost normal pace, but after a few minutes I had to slow down when the pain would build up. I went to the Sunday lunch/brunch that is had after Sunday morning track training and that was enough to tire me out to the point of needing a 2 hr nap when I got home!

Will know more tomorrow... hopefully,
