I think my newly discovered taste for Gin and Tonic has inflamed my sedentry gout. I normally only get it when I drink red wine frequently and considering I didn't drink any at all this past week but I have a sore big left toe and very sore right shoulder, it is all I can put it down to.
When I go to the doctor's on Thursday I will try to remember to get a script for some gout medication for once the month of Feb has passed.

To Buy.... Yes!
About 2 weeks ago I was asking The Forum what HRM's (Heart Rate Monitors) people use - what they like about them, how much it cost etc as I am interested in upgrading from the very basic HRM that I have. I ideally want one that does cadence and also altitude as I figure if I am going to upgrade then I will go the whole way and get one that shows me pretty graphs on my computer. I soon learned that none of them are Mac compatible and that not only do Polar not work with Mac, but they don't even follow the USB standards. There is another company, Garmin that make something similar to the Polar S720 and that being the Garmin Edge 305 HC, but is meant to work with Mac. Someone from The Forum has one though and they said that they couldn't get it working on their Mac, even though it is meant to.
This morning I discovered that at the end of last week, Garmin released their Mac software and you can now use the Garmin Edge 305 HC with Mac successfully! I have had it confirmed from two different people that it now works (including the people who couldn't get it working).
Now the only question to remain is.... do I go shopping tonight or tomorrow night :D I am a bit big Kev!

The Goal
I am setting myself a goal for the month of February - no alcohol! Yes, that is right, I aim to consume no alcohol during the entire month of February!
Wish me luck... I may need it ;)

A fresh start
I have had the one online journal/blog for near on 6 years and I feel the need for a change, so here it is.
I really feel that a new chapter of my life has begun in the past 6-8 months and I have left many things, and people, behind me and I think it is now time to do that to my old blog. One of the main changes to my life has been to my self confidence and my appearance. I have gone from this to this and although I have a little bit further to go I am extremely proud of my achievements.
When I write in this blog I am going to be totally honest about everything and I am not going to worry about offending people or boring them with what I want to write as this is for me.
If you are reading this now - G'Day and I hope you like reading about my life and my cycling.
