I am getting a cold, hopefully that's all it is and it's minor but all the same I am getting sick and I feel whingy and want hugs and sympathy and someone else to do the stuff that needs doing so I don't have to -sad face- I feel all lethargic, soreish throat and slightly snotty, it's really not all that bad but... yeah.... bleh, feel all sooky.
I haven't had a cold or anything since January so I've done pretty well really this winter, especially with all the stress of building and lack of exercise.
Not sure if it's good or bad timing in that I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for my asthma review.

Way too close
Today I nearly got cleaned up by a semi trailer, the kind that's a dump truck with another trailer on the back. The road I was on is one lane each way in an 80km/h zone and I had come to a stop at the traffic lights and so did the car behind me, however the semi trailer truck behind that car didn't! I could see it happening in my rear view mirror and was helpless, there was nothing I could do as there were cars coming down the other side of the road. In the end the truck driver just couldn't brake in time and ended up going off road to the left over the bike lane and onto the grass and coming to a stop at about my passenger side door! Gawd I thought I was done for and there was nothing I could do about it. Very lucky and I am VERY unimpressed by the truck driver >:( Very glad he had an empty load too.
For those that know the area, I was heading South on Plenty Road and stopped at the lights at Hawkestowe.

I can move again
Dear left neck and shoulder,
Thank you very much for finally almost being pain free, I can now reverse park my car again in the carport and almost have full pain free movement!
Sincerely,
Me.
In other news I'm heading to the home show after work today which should be interesting to get some idea's for my new house.
I also need to spend some of this weekend packing some more boxes as moving could be -fingers crossed- only 4 weeks away! -excited-
Today we were paid out yearly bonus and I always hate seeing how much tax gets taken out... just seeing those numbers there on the payslip, it hurts, it's not fun :(

Sleep is underrated
Sleep, how I love thee! Nothing beats a good nights sleep except for maybe more than one in a row. These days (since building a house??) I don't sleep through the entire night, I always seem to wake up, turn over and then usually I go back to sleep straight away but the nights that it doesn't happen or only happens once or twice are magical. I wake up in the morning feeling well rested and fantastic! I have now had two nights in a row of good sleep and I feel nice and relaxed and good today. I love it! The only thing I can put it down to is the nurofen+ I'm taking for my neck, it would be a shame though if that is the reason. Hopefully once I am in my house I will get back to having good night sleeps regularly again.
Speaking of my neck, it's still not great. It's better than it was, but it's not great. If I lie flat on my back and tilt my head to the left there is almost no pain, but once I am standing or sitting up and do the same thing, even with correct posture, it hurts and pulls :( I was hoping I would be able to cancel my physio appointment for this afternoon but it looks like I still need to go.
I got my tax refund yesterday! All $61.64 of it - still, it's better than owing them anything! I decided to buy some cookbooks with my tax refund mmm cooking! The whole time I've been building I've really been looking forward to my kitchen! I really LOVE cooking but I really HATE doing dishes but my house has a dishwasher and so look out I am going to be cooking up a storm! Also, the tripling of the bench space that I currently have will also be very welcome and inducive to cooking! The two cookbooks I bought are 2 of the new Country Womens Association cook books - Soups n Stews and Cakes! yummmm!! I liked their Soups n Stews one as it uses basic ingredients that you normally have in the house and are simple but yummy everyday food. I'm also really looking forward to trying the cake recipes - the CWA are famous for their cakes so they should all be rippers to make!!

Pinched a nerve in my neck
I was at work this morning, sitting at my desk and felt the urge to stretch, it was a really good stretch too until I pinched a nerve in my neck/left shoulder blade! I swear to god I can injure myself by almost doing nothing. Basically I couldn't move my head to the left at all as it would pinch/pull/hurt the top of my left shoulder blade and some limited movement to the right.
I stayed at work for an hour or two more seeing if it was suddenly going to get better but it didn't. By that point though I could at least turn my head enough to the right enough to do a head check when driving, so home I went.
A couple of nurofen+ later and some heat bag action it was feeling better but still pretty painful and couldn't move my head much to the left so I made an appointment to see a physio.
The physio pretty much just tried to make me taller by pulling my head up from my shoulders to try to unpinch the nerve and has given me a bunch of stretches to do. Every hour, yes every hour, I need to sit/stand up straight, with kind of tucking my chin in and pushing my head backwards and do 5 x 4 head tilts to the left pushing to the edge of the pain. I also have a really strenuous task just before bed and that is to lay on my bed w/out a pillow, flat on my back for 5-10 minutes and doing the head tilts. I'm also back on a regular consumption of nurofen+ for a few days and have another appointment on Wednesday. Poo!
Oh and I just discovered it REALLY hurts when I sneeze

Chilli salsa
Good ole Melbourne town has thrown up a pretty shitty day today, 100km/h winds, rain but it isn't cold. I had to head out to the Eltham market though as I needed to get more chilli salsa, it's a bit sweet for my liking but it has the fire power to make it really nice for me so I bought two big jars! I was talking to hem about how much I liked it and they were saying to use it on meats and the like. I reckon it would go really well with roast beef, so tonight I'm having roast beef for dinner mmm yummy! It's also great roast weather which helps. Before I can cook a roast though I really do need to do my dishes. I -hate- doing dishes, I am so looking forward to having a dishwasher soon :D

Too long between drinks
I have been so slack in updating!! Work is pottering along nicely and so is the house! Hopefully I have my keys to the house in about 5 weeks! My life really does feel like it is pretty much on hold until my house is done and I move in.
I haven't been exercising as much as I should have due to the weather although one bit of good news is that my asthma is improving and I'm no longer reaching for the ventolin but the cough is still with me even after a fortnight of bisolvin to try and get rid of it all.
If you want to keep up with what's going on, check out my building blog - http://chateaulisa.blogspot.com/ as that's updated a lot more frequently
